Ministry of Transport inspects maintenance work of the Wadi Al-Kouf bridge, executed by the Italian specialized company ICM.

   Benghazi, 22 November 2021 (Lana) The director of the Ministry of Transport office in the Eastern region has inspected maintenance work at Wadi al-Kouf bridge, which is being executed by a specialized Italian company.

 Dr. Idris Mohamed Mansour, Director of the Transport Projects Implementation Authority in the Eastern Region, got a firsthand account of the progress of the work of ICM - an Italian construction company specialized in maintaining bridges, and conducting the second technical survey to determine the job to be carried out to secure this historic bridge, wadi al-Kouf bridge, which suffers from cracks in the body of the bridge and its columns as a result of erosion of longitudinal concrete reinforcement in the columns bearing the main bridge, which links the cities of Benghazi and Marj.

 Engineers suggested that the cracks were caused by the overloading of cars passing over the bridge, as well as the absence of frequent maintenance work.
