Rome, November 18, 2021 (LANA) - Italian Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerini exchanged views with his British counterpart Ben Wallace on the situation in Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan, during a meeting that took place between them yesterday, Wednesday, in the capital, Rome.

And a statement from the Italian Ministry of Defense stated that Guerini "stressed that Italy's historical interest lies in the stability of the Middle East, as a region of strategic importance not only at the national level, but also for the security of Europe and across the Atlantic Ocean, according to what was published by the Italian Aki news agency."

 Guerini also stressed that his country and the United Kingdom have a long tradition of cooperation in the defense sector and work together on important cooperation programs starting with the European Sixth Generation Fighter Project (Temest).
