Prime Minister in speech addressed to the people of Cyrenaica : Our People in Cyrenaica cannot be part of any dispute, and the Libyan people deserve the sacrifice.

Tripoli, 27 October (Lana) The Head of the National Unity Government Abdel Hamid Al Dbeiba saluted the people of Cyrenaica and all Libyan cities, stressing that he and his government, which was chosen from all regions in Libya, came to serve the country without discrimination, and that it was not and will not be sectarian and the Libyan people deserve the sacrifice.

In a nationally-televised speech he addressed to the people of Cyrenaica last night in the presence of a number of ministers concerned with public services, Al Dbeiba explained that he gathered these ministers to send a message to our people in Cyrenaica, and to those who spoke on their behalf that there is no dispute between us, and our people in Cyrenaica cannot be dragged into in any disputes that may be political, but they will not be sectarian at all.

 He added that whoever says that our people in Cyrenaica are marginalized in services and programs will be answered by these ministers, whether in services or positions, which included all cities and regions in a fair, satisfactory and homogeneous geographical distribution.

The Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs revealed that the number of ministers in the government who belong to the eastern region, numbered 11, and that the number of undersecretaries reached 13, and t chairmen of the Libya portfolios, Eco-Tech companies, the long-term portfolio and foreign investments, Sirte Company , Ras Lanuf ,Al-Jawf, Melita - Al-Sirir Al-Mabrouk , Ports Financing , AGOCO, and a number of board members, most of whom are from the eastern region.

The Minister of State in Statistics added that among the 28 ambassadors who were recently appointed, 12 of them were from the Eastern Region.

Regarding projects in the field of transportation, the director of the Transportation Projects Execution Authority confirmed that the government has allocated LD 98 million to the authority, 85 of which were allocated for the maintenance of the stadiums of the University of Benghazi, and 13 million for salaries of workers in the construction company in Benghazi.

 With regard to public projects and within the ‘Return to Life’ program the Minister said 495 million were allocated to Cyrenaica for the implementation and completion of development projects.

The Minister of Communications confirmed that a branch has been opened for the Transport Ministry in Benghazi and that the Ministry has started implementing road projects Ajdabiya, Jallow, Tobruk Amsaed, Tobruk Ajdabiya, Alkfra Ghat, and other projects, including Tobruk, the Gardens neighborhood, Shahat, Al Kweifieh, Jallo, the ring road and the water supply lines Al Marj. Green Mountain and treatment of the sewage station in Ajdabiya.

 The Prime Minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior doing things that are not part of his duties, including closing down Benina Airport, which all Libyans use to travel and exchange visits.

The Prime Minister called on the deputies to follow up on projects in their areas and to follow up on their implementation, and that the government is ready to listen to their remarks regarding everything related to the needs of their cities.

The Prime Minister extended his thanks and appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister, Ramadan Boujnah, for doing his job properly and well, making visits to all cities, following up on the implementation of various projects in them, and making observations about any sector and in all cities without discrimination.

The Prime Minister directed the government ministers in all sectors to pay all debts owed by the previous government in the eastern region, which amounted to 600 million dinars, and to coordinate in this with the ministry to which the project belongs.
