German ambassador to Libya praises efforts of Presidential Council in unifying state institutions, launching national reconciliation project, and continuing to push for elections on schedule.

Tunis, 26 October, 2021 (Lana) - Vice-President of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, received, Tuesday in Tunis, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Libya, Mikhail Unmacht, and they discussed the latest developments in the political scene in Libya, especially the file of the elections to be held in December.

 At the beginning of this meeting, the Vice-President of the Presidential Council welcomed the German ambassador, praising the positive role of Germany towards the Libyan file, through the Berlin meetings, and its work from the beginning to adopt peaceful solutions towards the Libyan issue. Al-Lafi added that the Presidential Council is determined to move forward with holding presidential and parliamentary elections on time, along with the comprehensive national reconciliation project.

For his part, the German ambassador praised the efforts of the Presidential Council in unifying state institutions, launching the national reconciliation project, and continuing to push for holding the elections on schedule.
