The Committee for Setting Controls to Recruit Foreign Workers at the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation holds its third meeting.

Tripoli, October 25, 2021 (LANA) - The committee formed by the decision of the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation No. 241 of 2021 regarding the formation of a technical team to set the controls for the recruitment of foreign workers, held its third meeting in the presence and follow-up of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation for Employment Affairs.

During the meeting, many topics and procedures related to the process of attracting foreign workers were discussed, according to what was published by the Ministry's media office on its official page.

The committee discussed the prohibition of contracting with foreigners who entered the country on mission visas, and the confirmation of the approval of contracting professions in rare specialties, after the approval of the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation.

The team discussed the unification of all forms and contracts for foreign labor, in addition to the fees prescribed in accordance with the law.

During the meeting, the team discussed extending work contracts for medical personnel, including specialists, consultants, and experts in the oil field, as well as Libyan husbands and wives, from one to two years.

At its meeting, the committee emphasized that foreign personnel whose services had ended inside the country should not be contracted until after he had left Libya and a period of no less than two years had passed from the date of termination of the contract, with confirmation that his employer would deport him.
