The House of Representatives votes on a number of laws, including the law on the election of the president, the law on the election of the House of Representatives, and the amendment of the law establishing the Libyan News Agency.

Tripoli, October 11, 2021 (LANA) - The Parliament’s spokesperson, Abdullah Belhaq, announced today, Monday, the parliament’s acceptance of the amendments of the High Electoral Commission regarding Law No. 01 of 2021 regarding the election of the president, with the exception of the sixth point regarding adding an article to the law.

"Blehaq" confirmed on his Facebook page that the House of Representatives accepted the amendments received from the High Electoral Commission regarding the election law for the House of Representatives, with the exception of point No. 4 regarding amending Article 24 of the law to allow voting by correspondence.

Belhaq explained that the council voted unanimously on the law to amend the provisions of the law establishing the Libyan News Agency.

The Council also voted unanimously on the draft law to support the Libyan family, by disbursing an amount of 50,000 Libyan dinars to each Libyan family, with the exception of the recipients of the husband and wife grant and the draft law to protect the man-made river project, according to the spokesman.

 Belhaq added that the House of Representatives discussed the memorandum submitted by the Association of Libyan Parties regarding the electoral laws, and stressed that the electoral laws should remain in accordance with what was approved by the House.
