National reconciliation session in Tripoli in presence of large delegation from Eastern region.

Tripoli, 11 October, 2021 (Lana) - Tripoli, hosted Monday a community dialogue session, the second between the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Elders and Notables of Libya and a large delegation of wise men and dignitaries of the eastern region, comprising more than (150).

 it focused on discussing ways to implement comprehensive national reconciliation between various segments of society, as part of the efforts undertaken by the Council since its establishment in 2015.

The head of the Supreme Council of Libyan Elders and Notables, Engineer Ali Jabouda, expressed his happiness at the presence of this delegation of wise men and notables from the eastern region in their capital, Tripoli, pointing out that the great reception that our brothers from the Libyan east received from the notables and wise men of the western region from Sirte to Ghadames confirms the keen desire of the Libyan people to communicate, conduct dialogue, and call for national reconciliation, and end of bloodshed and reunification.

Jabouda said in a statement to the Libyan News Agency that the Supreme Council of Elders and Notables of Libya made all efforts to reunite, and did not spare neither money or effort and provided what could be offered for reconciliation between Libyans and repairing what was spoiled by wars, expressing hope that with the arrival of this large number of brothers from the notables and wise men of the eastern region, and their meeting today with the notables and wise men of the western region in the convergence of hearts between the fraternal brothers to open the political and social tracks.

Jabouda explained that the Council is working based on the mechanism set by its establishment decision No. 37 / 2015 to heal the rift, restore the rights of the displaced, prevent bloodshed and work to stop wars, and that the position of the Supreme Council of Libyan Elders and Notables is to reject war and fighting between the sons of the same country, but unfortunately the dominant matter is the political and military situation and the countries supporting the war.

"Jbouda" said that the Council made several reconciliations between many Libyan cities that were in conflict with each other and could not communicate with each other or even exchange social visits between its sons, such as reconciliation between Meshashiah and Zintan and reconciliation between Warshafana and the western region, and the United Nations session in Zawia regarding First and Second Kaniyat War, when the Council of Elders and Notables of Libya was the main driving force behind that event;
