Libyan Airlines resumes flights to Cairo International Airport.

Tripoli, October 9, 2021 (LANA) - The Libyan Airlines Company announced today, Saturday, the resumption of flights to Cairo International Airport, after a seven-year hiatus.

The company, on its Facebook page, published photos of the flight crew during the first flight from Maitiga International Airport.

The Al-Ahram Gate website stated that the first flights are scheduled to take off from Maitiga International Airport at 11.30 am this morning, when they will arrive at Terminal No. 1 known as the old airport at Cairo International Airport.

And the website quoted sources at Cairo Airport: "Cairo International Airport received a letter from Libyan Airlines confirming the arrival of the flight today, Saturday."

He explained that the plane is an Airbus (330) and carries flight number (LN 202) with 255 passengers on board, indicating that it will leave Cairo immediately after landing and return with 250 passengers on board.

The site indicated that the Libyan Airlines asked Cairo International Airport to prepare a celebration for the arrival of the first flight, through water cannons that receive the plane on the airport runway, which is the customary procedure for the opening of new airlines or the resumption of flights after a long pause.
