The Libyan Foreign Ministry is discussing with the African Union Commission a mechanism for paying late contributions.

Tripoli, September 20, 2021 (LANA) - The committee formed by a decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation No. (224) held a meeting with officials of the African Union Commission to discuss the mechanism for paying late contributions.

The ministry indicated in a circular that the committee headed by the Director of the Department of African Affairs, "Fateh Bashir Bashina", discussed in its meeting today, through the "zoom technology", with officials of the Commission in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, the mechanism for paying the late contributions of the Libyan state to the budget of the African Union.

During the meeting, the dues and initial proposals for the mechanism for paying the overdue contributions, and the required timetable, were reviewed.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to hold more meetings to reach a mutually satisfactory solution, as confirmed by the media office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on its official page.

In addition to the Chairman of the Committee, the two members of the Committee, "Mohammed Al-Sadiq Attia", Director of the Inspection and Oversight Office, "Ahmed Abu Al-Qasim Al-Marghani" Head of the International and Regional Contributions Department, "Osama Ali Qrainat" from the Minister's Office, and "Ihab Ammar Bin Dabab" participated in the meeting. A number of employees of the Department of African Affairs and a group of trainees from the Institute of Diplomatic Studies participated in the meeting in order to gain more knowledge in the field of diplomatic work, especially in the skills of the art of negotiation.
