New York, September 17, 2021 (LANA) - Libya chaired the meeting of the Arab Group in New York at the level of delegates, according to a statement issued by the Libyan Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

The mission said, in a statement yesterday, Thursday, that a meeting was held Wednesday at the headquarters of the Libyan mission in New York for the Arab Group headed by Libya's representative to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, which included the permanent observer of the League of Arab States, delegates and Arab ambassadors.

During the meeting, the delegates discussed the agenda that includes the decisions of Arab foreign ministers and how to put them into practice, and preparations for the meeting of Arab foreign ministers in New York on the sidelines of high-level meetings at the United Nations that will be held in New York from 20 to 26 of this September, which will be attended by a group of heads of state. and state leaders.

Also, in this meeting, the delegate of the State of Palestine had briefed on the latest developments in the Palestinian cause, and how to provide support and assistance at the Arab and international levels in the corridors of the United Nations.

It is noteworthy, that it is the first time that the group meeting has been held in person at the headquarters of the Libyan mission after nearly a year and a half due to the Corona pandemic.
