 Cairo, September 10, 2021 (LANA) - The Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, Jan Kubis, called on the international community to consolidate the great achievements and progress made by the Libyans in the past period to continue the political transition towards a united and fully sovereign country that enjoys peace and stability. In his speech to the Arab foreign ministers in Cairo, Kubis stressed that gaining support for the progress achieved is important not only for the Libyan people, but for the region as a whole, noting that the continuous, concerted and consistent efforts of neighboring countries, regional countries and their organizations, as well as the international community more broadly is a matter. It is essential to support and encourage the various parties in Libya to work together to unify state institutions, fully implement the ceasefire agreement, and pave the way for parliamentary and presidential elections on December 24th.
