Start of consultative ministerial meeting of neighboring countries of Libya in Algeria, with participation of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Najla Al-Manqoush.

Algeria, 30 August, 2021 (Lana) - The consultative ministerial meeting of Libya's neighboring countries kicked off this afternoon in Algeria, with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, "Najla Al-Manqoush," In addition to Libya and Algeria, the foreign ministers of Tunisia, Sudan, Egypt, Niger and Chad will participate in this consultative meeting, in addition to the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, representing the Congolese President, the current chairperson of the African Union, and the African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs and Peace and Security Issues As well as the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya. The discussions of the neighboring countries of Libya in this two-day meeting focus on strengthening efforts to find a permanent solution to the crisis in Libya.

 This conference is an opportunity for further consultation and coordination, on the latest developments in Libya and ways to support the Libya stability initiative launched by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Najla Al-Manqoush during the Berlin Conference (2), to end all forms of interference in the internal affairs of Libya, in a step to hold an international conference chaired and hosted by it. Libya, with the participation of all regional and international actors in the Libyan file, with the aim of achieving security and stability on the entire Libyan soil, and unifying the state’s sovereign institutions, especially the military and security ones, in order to reach the electoral elections on the set date.
