US Joins UNSMIL in Welcoming Joint MMR Security.

Tripoli, 26 August 2021(Lana) US Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland has said that the US joins the UN Support Mission in Libya in welcoming setting up of a joint force from the frontline, to secure the Man-made River network, considering it an important step toward protecting water resources and boosting national reconciliation.

In a tweet, posted to the Embassy SMS page, the Ambassador said such military cooperation could be a model for unifying the armed forces at a dire time for Libya’s sovereignty and regional stability.’
