Objections to appointment of members of Political Dialogue Committee to executive positions.

Tripoli, 25 August, 2021 (Lana) - A number of members of the House of Representatives and the State, activists and human rights activists and political, social, military and national leaders expressed their objection to appointing members of the Dialogue Forum to executive positions, which is in violation of the terms of the political agreement.

The objectors demanded, in a memorandum addressed to the UN envoy, "Jan Kubis", to cancel the membership of each of the members of the Dialogue Committee, because the independence of the Dialogue Committee is the most important pillar enabling it to achieve the benefits assigned to it, which is the only outlet in light of the division of the House of Representatives and its inability to perform with his duties.

 The memorandum, a copy of which was received by the Libyan News Agency, clarified that the appointment of members of the Dialogue Committee to leadership positions by the executive authority is in violation of the terms of the political agreement, and what was stipulated for membership in the dialogue forum held under your patronage in the State of Tunisia, and to pledges of stakeholders along with the current executive authority, which will lead In the end, to disrupt and obstruct the enactment of the constitutional rule to extend the life of the government, all at the expense of the interest and stability of the country, and against the integrity of the political dialogue.

The memorandum said that since the Political Dialogue Committee is still in session and charged with enacting a constitutional rule that lays the foundations for the next phase and legislates the elections to be held on December 24, according to what was stipulated in the road map, this requires members to abide by the conditions of their membership in the Dialogue Committee and to refrain from participating in the executive authority. Therefore, we ask you to cancel the membership of each of the members of the Dialogue Committee.
