Al Lafi and Kupis Discuss Proposals Aiming to Achieve Stability in Libya.

Tripoli, 24 August 2021(Lana) Member of Presidency Council Abdullah Al Lafi has discussed with Head of UN Support Mission in Libya a number of proposals aimed at achieving stability in Libya, including inviting Berlin Conference bakers to step their support by holding a conference for all Libyan parties.

This came at an audience Al Lafi held with the UN Envoy in Tripoli, to discuss developments on the political, security and military levels that could lead to stability in the country.

Member of the Presidency Council stressed need for an agreement on the constitutional basis for elections as soon as possible, to achieve Libyans aspired goal of holding the elections as the only way out to save the country.

On his part, the UN Envoy praised the Presidency Council effort in unifying state institutions, opening the coastal highway through 5+5 Military Commission, and exchange of prisoners on both sides, pledging Mission support to address outstanding files including withdrawal of mercenaries from Libya to create trust between the parties.
