US Embassy Welcomes Libya’s Neighboring Countries Foreign Ministers in Algeria Later This Month.

Tripoli, 23 August 2021(Lana) US Embassy in Libya has welcomed a meeting to be held by Libya’s neighboring countries foreign ministers in Algeria later this month, as part of international effort to achieve stability in Libya and the region, and secure withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign fighters.

This came at a meeting held on Monday between the US Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland, and Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtan Lamara in the Tunisian capital, according to a US Embassy tweet.

The Embassy indicated that Lamara briefed the Ambassador on Algeria’s plans to host a meeting for Libya’s neighboring countries foreign ministers, to push efforts to hold elections in Libya and to stop violence spreading from the Libyan South.
