Tripoli, August 18, 2021 (LANA) - The Presidential Council reiterated the need to expedite the appointment of a defense minister in order to commit to implementing the steps to unify the military institution and to abide by the outcomes of the particular road map.

This came in a press conference held by the official spokesperson of the Council, "Najwa Wahiba" today, Wednesday, during which she reviewed some of the activities carried out by the Presidential Council during the past period.

Wahiba clarified that the council stresses the necessity of cohesion of all military institutions to achieve their fundamental goals in protecting the security of the homeland and the citizen.

And Wahiba said in her press conference, "The Presidential Council has not and will not encourage any Libyan rifle that goes to the chest of another Libyan, whatever the reasons."

The Presidential Council expressed its support for all efforts to combat terrorism, including support for the forces that are part of the military institution that the Presidential Council is working to unify, according to what the council's official spokeswoman said.
