Tunisia and France Renew Commitment to Support Political Track in Libya.Pulbished on:
Tunis, 24 July 2021(Lana) Tunisia and France said they are still committed to supporting the Government of National Unity to complete positive results achieved on the political track, and establish stability in the country and the entire region.
This came during talks Tunisian Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi held on Friday with French Undersecretary for Europe, Expatriates and Francophonie Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne.
According to a Tunisian Foreign Ministry statement, the two sides discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest including the political track in Libya.
France which is the current UN Security Council Chairman for July , and Tunisia, Niger and Kenya the non-permanent members had identical views over withdrawal of foreign forces from Libya in the last Council meeting on Libya.
French Foreign Minister Jean Jean-Yves Le Drian said at the meeting that withdrawal of foreign forces from Libya should start with Syrian mercenaries, as Tunisian Foreign Minister stressed that withdrawal of all foreign fighters was a necessary to push stability in the country.
