Tripoli, July 8, 2021 (LANA) - The Council of Ministers of the Government of National Unity decided, in its fourth regular meeting, which was held Thursday evening in the capital, Tripoli, to close the land and air ports with the State of Tunisia for a week, starting today at 12:00 midnight.

The spokesman for the Government of National Unity, "Mohamed Hammouda", said in a press statement that this decision was taken after the exacerbation of the epidemiological situation in the State of Tunisia, the increase in the rate of infections with the Indian mutated Delta virus, and the announcement by the Tunisian Ministry of Health of the collapse of the country's health system.

He added that the Libyan state, through its consulate in Tunisia, will take care of the Libyans stranded in Tunisian territory as a result of this decision until their return to the country is facilitated.

And "Mohammed Hammouda" indicated that among the precautionary measures taken by the Council today, it was decided to stop studying in universities and colleges until after the blessed Eid Al-Adha.
