London, June 30, 2021 (LANA) - The United Kingdom welcomed the participation of the Government of National Unity in the Global Climate Summit (COP26), which will be hosted this year by the city of Glasgow, in the presence of world leaders.
The UK government considered that Libya's participation in international talks on how to address this issue and help it ratify the Paris Agreement, is of paramount importance.
According to what was published by the British Embassy in Libya, world leaders participating in the COP26 summit will discuss the best ways to combat climate change and achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, which aims to keep global temperature rise below 1.5 degrees Celsius, which is critical to limiting the impact of climate change.
The embassy stressed the need to move forward in limiting the impact of climate change, as it is a global issue that requires global efforts, and it must work with all countries to solve it.
