Tax Authority discuss with USAID officials ways to develop the Authority.

Tripoli, 10 March, 2021 (Lana) - The Director General of the Tax Authority, Dr. Khaled Al-Nakhhat, held a virtual meeting with USAID officials, and the directors of the Pragma Organization, in the presence of the economic attaché at the US embassy in Libya, Patricia Morales.

The authority said in a statement on its official Facebook page that the meeting - which was attended by the directors of the department's planning and finance departments - dealt with setting up a mechanism to add an annex to the area of cooperation, developing and improving tax work, and discussing a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and the agency and the LPFM agreement. .

 The meeting also discussed ways to support the Ministry of Finance in its ability to manage its financial policies so that the tax policy is more effective in financing the state’s public treasury by collecting taxes in accordance with the legislation in force, addressing economic imbalances and distortions and directing the economy by using the best systems, methods and techniques. The meeting also discussed a project to develop the work system at the tax authority from a traditional work system to a fully electronic tax system that works with the latest technical systems, so that the tax authority can keep pace with the development and diversity of economic life and achieve the objectives entrusted to the authority with all speed, accuracy and efficiency in performance.
