The Central Bank of Libya is considering implementing its approved plan to provide liquidity in all cities for the year 2022.

Tripoli, December 28, 2021 (LANA) - The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, "Al-Siddiq Al-Kabeer", held a meeting in his office today, Monday, with the team charged with implementing the approved plan to provide liquidity by the bank and deliver it to all branches of commercial banks in all Libyan cities.

The meeting discussed the efforts made to follow up on the commitment of banks to provide cash on a regular basis to citizens, in preparation for the implementation of the Central Bank of Libya’s plan for the year 2022, according to what was published by the bank’s media office on its official page.

The team confirmed that the value of shipments sent by air by the Central Bank of Libya to branches of commercial banks in the eastern region amounted to 2 billion dinars, while shipments sent to bank branches in the southern region amounted to 1.5 billion dinars, and the regions of the western mountain amounted to 1.2 billion dinars. In addition to the distribution of liquidity from bank branches exceeding 27 billion dinars during the year 2021. The volume of currency circulation outside banks has also decreased by nearly 7 billion dinars.
