Minister of Economy: The government seeks to activate the partnership between the private and public sectors and open investments to the private sector.

Tripoli, October 25, 2021 (LANA) - The Libyan Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy Council organized today, Monday, a workshop entitled "The Company between the Private and Public Sectors in the Field of Services and Industry of Renewable Energy", with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, "Abdul Hamid Dbaiba".

During his speech, the Minister of Economy and Trade indicated that the National Unity Government's program to diversify the national economy is based on activating the partnership between the private and public sectors, opening investments to the private sector in all fields and sectors, and diversifying renewable energies.

It also aims to rationalize the role of the public sector in order to provide the necessary expertise and competencies and work to create confidence between the two sectors in order to achieve sustainable development and reduce the monopoly of the public sector and encourage the private sector in order to provide job opportunities, reduce government spending and achieve horizontal and vertical integration.

Al-Hawaij stressed that foreign companies in the fields of investment and marketing must have an agent or representative of Libyan nationality to work in the local market, in accordance with the law.

The workshop was attended by the Ministers of Oil and Gas, Industry and Minerals, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Trade for Commercial Affairs, a number of undersecretaries of ministries, heads of bodies, centers and unions, and a group of academics, researchers and those interested.
