Chinese Diplomate voices support to Libyan government

Tripoli, 18 October, 2021 (Lana) - The Chargé d'Affairs of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China expressed his country's support for the Government of National Unity that seeks to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people to achieve development, restore security and stability, unify institutions and preserve national sovereignty.

Sources of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated that the statements of the Chinese Chargé d'Affairs came during a meeting with the Director of the Asia and Australia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ahmed Al-Naas, Monday.

The two sides discussed several files of common interest including the revival of the Libyan-Chinese joint committee and the political consultation agreement between the two countries, which would encourage Chinese companies to resume their activities in Libya.

They also discussed the return of the Chinese embassy to work in the capital, Tripoli, and the activation of the consular section to provide the necessary services to the citizens in Tripoli.
