Committee on follow up of MoU between EU's Sofia forces and Libyan Navy meet in Tunis.

Tripli, 18.10.2016(Lana) A broad meeting was convened by Adhoc
committee on follow up of MoU between EU's Sofia forces and Libyan
Navy. The MoU designed to fight illegal immigration and held a
meeting last week in Tunis to discuss mechanisms and guidelines to
start training of Libyan coast guard and navy to fight illegal
immigration.
Libyan Navy spokesman, Brig. Ayub Qassem told Lana that the
meeting confirmed that the training programme will be launched on 24
of this month.
The trainees will embark from Misrata port and the training will
include over 80 trainees besides supervisors from various
specialties. He also said the training will last for 14 weeks on
board an Italian training ship, Saint Giorgio.
He also said the head of the EU team of experts has praised work
of the Libyan navy describing it as prominent and wonderful in an
email to the Libyan navy.
