UN Secretary General Welcomes Opening of Coastal Highway, Says Deployment Long-awaited by Libyan People.

New York, 31 July 2021(Lana) UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has welcomed the opening of the coastal highway linking Libya’s western region to the east, and said it was a development long- awaited by the Libyan people.

Guterres again called on Libyan and international parties to expedite implementation of the ceasefire, and the holding of elections on set time Dec. 24, 2021, praising efforts of the 5+5 Military Committee along various stages.
