House of Representatives Set up National Committee for Sustainable Development.

Tripoli, 28 July 2021(Lana) The House of Representatives has issued a decision to set up a the National Committee for Sustainable Development, to undertake the UN program for achieving sustainable development objectives 2030.

The decision No 19 of 2021 stipulated that the committee conduct the necessary study of existing situation for executing the objectives of sustainable development 2030 signed by the Speaker of Parliament in September 2015, and feed back on how can the House of Representatives be a partner in the development work and the policies needed to be introduced by the competent authorities.

The decision called on the committee to seek realignment of Parliament work with the Government’s national strategy, regarding objectives of sustainable development, provide advice, and to take the necessary arrangements to ensure Parliament role in enacting the relevant legislation related to sustainable development.
