Norway Reiterates Support for Elections in Libya on set Time, Withdrawal of Foreign Forces and Mercenaries.
Pulbished on:New York, 16 July 2021(Lana) Norway has reiterated its support for holding elections in Libya on set time.
This was articulated by Norwegian UN Representative, in remarks before the UN Security Council meeting on Libya on Thursday.
The Norwegian Representative stressed need for Libyan parties to fulfill the electoral requirement; putting in place a constitutional basis needed to conduct the elections.
The Norwegian diplomat also stressed need for implementing the ceasefire agreement in full, withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries, and execution of the UN Resolution on ceasefire monitoring mission as soon as possible and to seek to ensure disarmament process.
