US State Department Spokesman: Key Issue in Berlin Gathering is Discussing Progress on Withdrawal of Mercenaries and Foreign Forces.

Washington, 24 June 2021(Lana) US State Department Spokesman Ned Price said that the Berlin 2 Conference on Libya has achieved the goals of all participants in regard to the foreign forces issue.

‘The key issue about foreign forces is that in addition to what happened in this conference, there were discussions going on for a while, on how to make progress in getting the mercenaries and foreign fighters out, most foreign parties –all foreign parties realize that their attempts using military means will not succeed, and those who supported Haftar have failed, thus they are all committed to the political process, Price said at the Daily Press Briefing at the State Department last night.

The US is taking this issue seriously and outs its diplomatic influence in it, he said.
