Minister of Economy Discuss With Egyptian Ambassador Preparation for Higher Libyan-Egyptian Joint Committee Meeting.

Tripoli, 12 May 2021(Lana) GNU Minister of Economy Mohamed Al Huweij met Egyptian Ambassador Mohamed Salim, to discuss preparation for the Higher Libyan- Egyptian Joint Committee due in the third quarter of this year, and to re-activate agreements signed by the two countries in the areas of investments and economy and free movement of individuals, residence and property owning.

The Minister stressed, at the meeting held in Tripoli, the need to re-open Cairo Airport to flights between the two countries and to facilitate entry procedures at border crossings.

The Minister urged the Egyptian side to stage an exhibition of Egyptian products in Benghazi, and to convene the Libyan-Egyptian Businessmen Council to spur investments by the private sectors in both countries.

He also invited Egypt to take part in the Tripoli International Fair session due in September, to enhance trade exchange between the two countries.
