Italian Parliament Urges Government to Contribute to Stability in Libya.

Rome, 4 May 2021(Lana) Italian Member of Parliament for Forza Italia party Alessandro Patelco and Chairwoman of Cooperation Administration Raffaella Bonsangue on Monday urged their Government to offer support to efforts being mounted by the Government of National Unity to restore stability to Libya at this juncture which they described as crucial.

According to Nova news agency, the Italian officials said, after a meeting with the Libyan Ambassador to Italy Muamar Al Tarhouni, that Libya under leadership of GNU Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Al Dbeiba is going through a crucial period for its future.

‘Italy should back up all efforts aimed at restoring stability in Libya, and cooperation with Italy and the European Union is indispensable to combating illegal migration, they added.

Economic recovery and partnerships between Italy and Libya should be supported given the multiple opportunities in various areas, they stressed.
