Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed, undertakes to work to encourage foreign companies to return to Libya to complete their contracts in the implementation of development projects.

Tripoli, April 22, 2021 (LANA) - The Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed, pledged to work to encourage foreign companies to return to Libya to complete their contracts in the implementation of development projects.

In press statements, Al-Abed clarified the desire of the National Unity Government for the return of foreign companies, especially in the sectors of housing, electricity, oil, communications, transportation, tourism, infrastructure, and other projects.

Libya had concluded contracts between 2007 - 2009 with foreign companies worth more than 140 billion dinars to complete a number of different projects.

 As part of his endeavor to provide job opportunities for young people looking for them, the Minister recently held a meeting with the President of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanallah, during which a number of issues related to qualifying and training young people looking for work in the oil sector were discussed, through the Ministry’s plan to implement specialized training programs for graduates looking for work. It was also agreed to activate and renew partnerships and agreements between the two sides.

 During the meeting, the Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation stressed the need for oil companies to start work from their headquarters in southern Libya, in a way that contributes to spatial development and employment of youth in those regions and other areas surrounding the oil installations, and the need to find solutions to send fuel shipments to all cities and villages of southern Libya.

For his part, Sanallah pledged that the National Oil Corporation will start work according to what has been agreed upon in the near future, and the corporation's readiness to extend the south with convoys of fuel and gas shipments.
