Tripoli, April 6, 2021 (LANA) - President of the Presidential Council, "Mohamed Almanfi", today, Tuesday, in the capital, Tripoli, received the Italian Prime Minister "Mario Draghi" and his accompanying delegation, which had started an earlier official visit to Libya.

The meeting, which was held in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, "Najla Al-Manqoush," and Italy's ambassador to Libya, "Giuseppe Buccino," discussed strengthening cooperation in the economic and trade fields between the two friendly countries.

In a statement to the Libyan News Agency, the spokesman for the Presidency Council, Najwa Wahiba, described the meeting as fruitful, noting that the discussions between the two sides focused on coordination on how to work jointly between the two countries and activating some provisions of the Libyan-Italian friendship treaty signed in 2008, especially in the field of infrastructure and investments.

Wahiba added that the meeting also discussed how investment companies could return to work in Libya, as well as opening the airspace between Libya and Italy as soon as possible.
