The President of the European Council assures the President of the Presidency Council of the importance of stability and peace in Libya for the countries of the region.

Tripoli, April 04, 2021  (LANA) - The President of the Presidential Council, "Muhammad Yunus Al-Manfi", received today, Sunday, in the capital, Tripoli, the President of the European Council, "Charles Michel," who had earlier started an official visit to Libya.

During the interview, the European official expressed the European Union’s readiness to provide all means to support stability and peace in Libya, given the importance it represents to the countries of the region, and to hold the presidential and parliamentary elections on the scheduled date of December 24.

  In turn, the President of the Presidency Council thanked the European Union countries for their support for the efforts to stabilize the country, reaffirming to the European official the commitment of the Presidency Council to hold the elections as scheduled in December.

According to the media office of the President of the Presidency Council, during this meeting, means of cooperation in the migration file and securing maritime borders with the European Union were discussed and their importance for the countries of the region.
