Turkish Foreign Ministry describes parliament’s session scheduled to give confidence to the national unity government as a democratic step.

Ankara, 7 March, 2021 (Lana) the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Saturday, described the voting session scheduled for Monday to give confidence to the national unity government as "a democratic step that provides an important opportunity for lasting peace in the country."

 This came in the course of a Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman's response, "Hami Aksoy," to a question about the session of the Libyan House of Representatives to be held tomorrow in Sirte, to vote on granting confidence to the national unity government in the country.

Aksoy said, "This democratic step that our Libyan brothers have taken on the basis of dialogue and national consensus in the political process provides an important opportunity for lasting peace in Libya."

Aksoy expressed his hope that the formation of the national unity government presented by the new Prime Minister, "Abdul Hamid Dabaiba" to the House of Representatives, will gain confidence as soon as possible, and then start working on solving the urgent problems of the country.

The diplomatic spokesperson confirmed that Turkey will continue to provide all kinds of support to the national unity government.
