Libyan Constituent Assembly for Drafting Constitution criticizes the slowdown of the UN mission in finding a solution to Libyan crisis .

Tripoli, 3 March, 2021 AD (Lana) The Libyan constituent body for drafting the constitution called on the UN Secretary-General's envoy for support in Libya Jan Kubis to accelerate the building of the authorities and institutions of the state of Libya according to constitutional reviews.  

In a statement Tuesday, a delegation from the commission that had met with Kubis criticized the failure of the UN mission "seriously to find a solution to the Libyan crisis " and the continuation of the transitional situation.

 The delegation, in its response to what Kubis had raised regarding his proposals on the constitutional path, affirmed that the chief of the mission’s talk about holding legislative and presidential elections on December 24th is an end to transitional phases in Libya, (a statement that does not speak and the concept of transitional stages, while the general elections did not take place; In accordance with the provisions of the country's permanent constitution); They explained that the Libyan situation (will continue under the description of the transitional situation, and its dangers and risks remain).

The statement added; ‘UNSMIL is diving into the maze of managing the Libyan crisis), without moving seriously to find a solution to it. This necessitates pushing for an exit from the temporary to permanent situation, stressing that (the more delayed the start of building the authorities and institutions of the future state of Libya, based on a constitutional reference, approved by the people through a general referendum, crises deepened, disputes multiplied, the causes of failure multiplied, and the problems became more complicated).

 While the members of the delegation proposed three proposals to the head of the UN mission, including the adoption of the outputs of the constitutional committee agreed upon in Hurghada, and under the auspices of the United Nations mission, as it was carried out in accordance with the timeframe specified in the roadmap for the preparatory phase, and considered it a basis for the next general elections scheduled to be held next December. It should be noted that the commission’s delegation that met with Kubiş, on February 21, included: Al-Jilali Abdul Salam Arhuma, Al-Badri Muhammad Al-Sharif, Al-Hadi Ali Bouhamra, Salem Muhammad Kashlaf, Ahmed Ali Osman Kony, and Al-Mutamad Omar Al-Maslati.
