Tripoli, 3 March, 2021 (Lana) - A member of Parliament, "Ali Al-Issawi," said that the reported allegations of corruption and bribery marred the outputs and actions of the Libyan Dialogue Forum in Geneva are neither new nor strange. Al-Issawi explained that the corruption accusations against the work of the international support mission in Libya have been repeated for years and affected its highest official and its head at that time, Mr. Bernandino Lyon, as Wikileaks website revealed coordination with an Arab country related to the Libyan conflict in exchange for financial and employment privileges that resulted in his assuming the position, with a large salary after the end of his work as head of mission.

He added that the current Libyan Dialogue Forum also did not escape from these accusations during its first sessions in Tunis, and before moving to Geneva, with the importance of emphasizing that the international mission itself was neither transparent nor clear in the way it selected the members of the dialogue forum, and it did not announce any criteria for the selection process.

According to a large sector of Libyans, it is the mission itself that practices corruption or turns a blind eye to its practices in order to use it in a timely manner against those who oppose its outcomes and goals.

A member of the House of Representatives, "Ali Al-Issawi," affirmed that all corruption files must be opened and all their outputs addressed in line with the national reconciliation, considering that every product of the mission's work during the previous period is null and void.
