Members of Parliament support holding session to grant vote of confidence to the government and do not rule out holding it in Ghadames.

Benghazi, 28 February, 2021 (Lana) - A number of members of Parliament stressed the need to hold a session of their parliament and announced their support for the invitation of the Speaker, Aqila Saleh Issa, to hold a session within days, to give a vote of confidence to the new government headed by Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, stressing that the venue of the session is not as important as achieving the goal of unifying the Libyan institutions and foremost the parliament, according to Sputnik correspondent in Benghazi.  

A member of Parliament for the South, Mesbah Ouheida, made press statement in which he confirmed that he does not object to holding a session of granting confidence to the government anywhere in Libya, and there is no problem in holding a session anywhere in Libya, so the most important thing is to give confidence to the government to start its work, and we try to unify institutions).

 For his part, Ibrahim Al-Dorsi, a member of the House of Representatives for the East, expressed his support for the House of Representatives' call to hold a session to discuss granting confidence to the new government in Sirte or Tobruk, and said: We support what was stated in the House of Representative’s call for a session to discuss granting confidence to the new government. We definitely agree to hold the session in Sirte or Tobruk.)

 A member of the Libyan House of Representatives from the East, Intisar Shneib, also announced the approval of a session to grant confidence to the new government in Sirte or Tobruk, pointing out that what matters is ending the state of division of institutions. Shneib said: Yes, we agree, and there are a large number of members of Parliament who will attend the confidence-granting session in Sirte or Tobruk, there is no difference between them.

For her part, a member of the Libyan House of Representatives from the East, Aisha al-Tablqi, said that there are a number of parliament members refusing to attend the session of granting confidence to the government in Sirte or Tobruk, and the session is likely to be held in Ghadames, not Sirte, headed by the two deputies of Aqila Saleh, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi and Hamida Houmeh. Al-Tablqi ruled out holding a session of granting confidence to the government in Sirte, and there is a high possibility that the session will be held in the city of Ghadames headed by the first and second deputies (of the Speaker of the House), Fawzi Al-Nuweiri and Hamida Houmeh, provided that the quorum is in the presence of 120 deputies for the approval of the government first, and then a new president is chosen.
