Head of the Women’s Support and Empowerment Unit at the Presidential Council gives a speech at the General Conference of the Arab Women Organization in Beirut.

Tripoli, February 26, 2021 (LANA) - The head of the Women's Support and Empowerment Unit at the Presidential Council, Dr. Leila Al-Lafi, reviewed the challenges facing women in the world, calling for the need to work for the empowerment of women and raising the level of their political participation, to change the misconceptions that suppress their ideas and remove obstacles Which women may object in order to empower them on all levels.

This came in her recorded speech during the opening session of the Eighth General Conference of the Arab Women Organization under the slogan "Arab Women and Cultural Challenges", which was held in the Lebanese capital Beirut during the past two days through the digital platform.

In her speech, Dr. Laila Al-Lafi expressed the pride of the Arab woman for her achievements despite the challenges they face in various fields, praising in this regard the efforts of the Government of National Accord to contribute to restoring the minimum level of security and stability to ensure the protection of women from the phenomenon of violence and the creation of a health comprehensive care system, and enhancing their political participation at the decision-making level, and the establishment of the Women’s Support and Empowerment Unit in the Presidential Council, which is the national institution concerned with women's affairs and empowerment in state institutions.

Dr. Al-Lafi called on Arab women to develop strategies for the Arab Women Organization by supporting joint work to develop plans and programs for the rehabilitation of youth and the empowerment of women to contribute to the recovery of what our societies have been subjected to in periods of conflicts and wars.
