Tripoli, February 25, 2021 (LANA) - The new President of the Presidency Council, "Muhammad Al-Mnifi" and his two deputies, "Musa Al-Koni" and "Abdullah Al-Lafi", accompanied by the President of the National Unity Government, "Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba," today, Thursday, in Tripoli, received the Ambassador of the European Union to Libya, "Jose Sabadell, and the new head of the European Union Mission to Assist Border Management, Ms. Natalina Sia.

According to the website of the European Union mission, the talks between the two sides focused on the political process and the importance of moving forward towards the elections scheduled for December 24th.

 The talks also dealt with the discussion of measures necessary to improve the access of all persons in Libya to basic services (electricity, water and health services), and the importance of agreeing to a unified budget in this context, in addition to the issue of immigration and the dire situation of migrants in Libyan detention centers - as described by the mission - and the urgent need to strengthen protect the rights of migrants and intensify cooperation in managing migration flows.
