The Minister of State for displaced affairs meets with the Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator of the UN mission to Libya.

Tripoli, February 24, 2021 (LANA) - The Minister of State for Displaced Affairs, Dr. Yusuf Jalalah, met today, Wednesday, with the Assistant Secretary-General and the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Libya, Mrs. Georgette Janion, and the Deputy Head of the United Nations Agency for Migration in Libya, Mr. Matt Huber and her accompanying delegation.

 During the meeting, Jalalah congratulated Mrs. Georgette on the task entrusted to her and wished her success, and reviewed with her the efforts of the Government of National Accord and the Ministry of Displaced Persons in the humanitarian field, the ministry’s work mechanism and its technical advisory role in the issue of displaced persons and national reconciliation.

During the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office, they reviewed the urgent needs in the southern regions of Tripoli, strengthening efforts of the return of Tawergha families, and the challenges facing them in the field of infrastructure.

Ms. Janion welcomed the continuation of the ceasefire efforts, and to allow humanitarian workers to provide the necessary services to those who deserve it.
