City of Surman celebrates 10th anniversary of 17 February Revolution.

Surman, 21 February, 2021 (Lana) The Martyrs Square in Surman witnessed the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the February 17 Revolution, amid a popular presence by citizens, people and children of the city, waving flags and decorations. The ceremony was attended by the head and members of the municipality’s management council, notables of the city, the director of Surman security, the families of the martyrs and the wounded, a number of officers, non-commissioned officers, and employees of the city’s security services, as well as a group of guests in the surrounding areas.  

During the celebration, which began with verses from the Holy Quran and the national anthem, many speeches were delivered that expressed congratulations on this occasion to all Libyan people.

 The speeches urged everyone to move from the revolution stage to building a state of law and institutions and to move away from regionalism and tribalism, calling on the displaced to return to their city and participate in establishing a state where justice and law prevail.

The celebration included a parade of vehicles and motorcycles, in which various security services in the city and neighboring cities participated.

In addition, a show of art was held, in which paintings, artistic and lyrical performances, and popular poetry were presented, in addition to many programmes and paragraphs that embody the authenticity and heritage of the Libyan people.
