Central Bank of Libya introduces a new five-dinar notes.

Tripoli, 15 February, 2021 (Lana) - The Central Bank of Libya, released a new issue of the five-dinar denomination currency on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the glorious 17th February Revolution. The head of the bank’s currency printing committee, Dr. Abd al-Latif al-Tunisi, confirmed at the ceremony that this issue comes within the framework of the Central Bank of Libya’s efforts to develop the local currency, and the shift from printing banknotes from regular linen paper to printing on polymer, indicating that this experience comes.  

They continued the gradual shift that the bank started in printing the "dinar" denomination that entered circulation two years ago.

Al-Tunisi explained the bank’s efforts in this regard, and that it will continue the processes of development and modernization and keep pace with any development in the field of currency issuance, which will be subsequently replaced by the ten dinars denominations of twenty and fifty dinars during the coming period.

This new currency is referred to as it is characterized by the transparent window inside the polymer and has a picture of Omar Al-Mukhtar, the possibility of seeing the number (5) when shining the light from the back, and by changing the colors of the shapes under the ultraviolet rays, and the magnetic numbering and the illuminated numbers and infinitesimal inscriptions.
