Presidential Council Mourns Victims of Fire Accident at Naval Academy.

Tripoli, 20 January, 2021 (Lana) - The Presidency Council of the Government of National Accord mourned the victims of the fire that broke out on Tuesday at the Naval Academy building in the Janzour region, which was followed by an explosion in an ammunition store.  

The Presidency Council offered its deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of this great affliction, calling upon the Almighty to show mercy and to dwell them in peace, and to inspire their families with patience. A fire broke out last night in the special missions warehouse of the Naval Academy of Janzour, to an explosion, killing three people and wounding four others.

Navy Forces spokesman, Masoud Abdul-Samad, said that among the martyrs, the commander of the Academy Brig Gen (Navy) "Ahmed Ayoub," and the Naval College Commanded Brig Gen (Navy) "Salem Abu Salah", and Muhammad Faraj Khalifa.

 Abdul Samad explained that the cause of the explosion was the result of smoke being trapped inside the store, and after the doors were opened and the air entered the fire strongly, the pressure increased and the explosion occurred that shuttered the doors and demolished the wall, causing injuries to people who were trying to extinguish the fire.
