Constitutional Commission Comprised of Delegations of House of Representatives and High Council of State Meets in Hurghada.

Hurghada, 19 January 2021(Lana)  The second meeting of the  Constitutional Commission comprised of delegations of House of Representatives and High Council of State began in Hurghada to discuss constitutional preparations for holding the general elections on Dec. 24, 2021. 

The meeting will last for three days said the Acting UN Special Representative, Stephanie Williams who welcomed the participants attending via video conferencing .

Williams stressed the need to put in place the constitutional preparations for the coming period given the importance attached and the relationship to the outcome of the other tracks. She warned against negative repercussions of not reaching an agreement including on the security and economic situations. The participants in this meeting shoulder a great responsibility.

She voiced her support for what she termed positive engagement by the two houses, and said she looked forward to the outcome of the dialogue at the end of the 60 day ultimatum in accordance with the fourth article of the roadmap.
