UN Security Council Names New Envoy to Libya.

New York, 13 September 2020(Lana) The UN Security Council has
agreed on a new envoy to Libya and a coordinator, after 6 months of a
dispute according to Diplomats.
A vote will take place early next week on a draft resolution
renewing the mandate of the UN Support Mission in Libya UNSMIL until
September 15, 2021, and outlining the structure of the leadership.
According to the French News Agency which obtained a copy of the
resolution, UNSMIL should be led by a special envoy of the UN
Secretary General, with an emphasis on the goodwill efforts and
mediation with the key players in Libya and internationally to end
the conflict.
