Pulbished on:
Tripoli, August 11, 2020 (LANA) - Member of the Presidential Council,
Dr. Muhammad Amari Zayed, met the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Mr.
Serhat Aksen today, to discuss bilateral relations between the two
friendly countries.
During the meeting held at the Cabinet Office in Tripoli, Dr. Amari
discussed the military situation in Sirte and Al-Jufrah, the
political process and joint projects between Libya and Turkey,
affirming that the Government of National Accord will continue its
plan to extend its influence over all of the Libyan soil.
He pointed out that there are no two conflicting parties in Libya,
but rather a legitimate government, which is the government of all
Libyans without exception, attacked by the rebel "Haftar" and that he
has no place in the political process and his place is in local and
international courts.
Dr. Ammari also emphasized that what links Libya and Turkey is a
common future of work and construction for the benefit of the two
countries and joint action to face all the challenges facing this
partnership.
In his turn, the Turkish ambassador affirmed Turkey's firm position
in its support for the Government of National Accord as the only
legitimate government recognized internationally, which is Turkey's
position in all international forums, stressing that the war criminal
and his supporters with his crimes in Tarhouna and others have no
place at the dialogue table.
The meeting also touched on the close return of Turkish companies to
Libya once the Government of National Accord completes its agreement
with the companies and the Turkish government, to complete projects
in the sectors of education, transportation, and infrastructure.
