The Kremlin: telephone talks between the Russian President and his Congolese counterpart on the implications of the Libyan crisis.

Moscow, July 07, 2020 (WAL) - Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with the President of the Republic of the Congo, Dennis Sassou Nguesso, on the Libyan crisis and its implications on the African continent. A Kremlin statement stated that the contact came - at the initiative of the Congolese side, which chairs the African Union's High-level Committee on Libya. In the statement, the Kremlin said that the two presidents exchanged views on the situation in Libya, and it was stressed the need to find a peaceful solution to the conflict through political dialogue with the participation of all Libyan parties. It was also agreed to continue contacts between the two sides.
