The Japanese government supports Libya with "two million and 100 thousand dollars" to confront the Corona pandemic.

Tokyo, 22.06.2020 - Lana - The total number of coronavirus infections in Libya reached 544, with what followers of the outbreak of the pandemic in the country described as a frightening situation, especially with a deteriorating health situation throughout the country. Amid these concerns, the government of Japan announced support for the humanitarian response in Libya in the light of the Corona pandemic, and decided to provide two million and 100,000 dollars to UNICEF to tackle the pandemic in Libya. According to UNICEF, in partnership with the Libyan authorities and the World Health Organization, the program aims to work for 9 months, a multi-sectoral response to protect the lives of millions of the most vulnerable children and families in the country and reduce the spread of the virus. This support will help improve infection control and prevention by providing vital medical supplies as well as sanitation and hygiene supplies and providing uninterrupted access to basic health and nutritional services for children, women and vulnerable communities. =Lana=
