Ndjamena, 14 April 2019(Lana) The Heads of State and Governemnt of the Sahel and Sahara Gathering have called for an immediate halt of fighting in the capital Tripoli. The Gathering emergency meeting held in the Chadian capital has called in a statement, read by Malian Foreign Minister Kamissa Camara, on all Libyan parties to the conflict to an immediate ceasefire, and resumption of talks.' 'Africa today is the continent in which peace and stability face continuous threats, especially in the Sahel Sahara region', the AU Chairperson Musa Fiki said. The political and military crisis in Libya, and the security situation in North Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso as well as the threat of Boko Haram are reminders of the scale of challenges that we have to face, he added. =Lana=
